Anxiety has a way of taking the driver’s seat—especially during pregnancy and postpartum. That’s why so many parents seek perinatal anxiety therapy that feels compassionate, calming, and embodied.
It whispers warnings about worst-case scenarios.
It tracks every diaper, every nap, every heartbeat.
It wonders if you’re bonding enough, doing enough, being enough.
Anxiety is clever. It tries to protect. But what if it’s not the wisest voice in the room?
What if there’s a part of you who remembers how to breathe deeply, trust your rhythm, and feel safe inside your own skin?
This post is an invitation to meet that part of you.
When Anxiety Runs the Show
If you’re a new or expecting parent, it’s easy to feel hijacked by anxiety. You might…
- Recheck the baby monitor several times before falling asleep
- Freeze when making “simple” decisions
- Feel a pit in your stomach over messes, schedules, or unsolicited advice
- Spiral into shame because “other parents seem to have it together”
You’re not alone. These are common nervous system responses to the enormous life transition of parenthood. But they don’t have to define you.
Why Perinatal Anxiety Therapy Should Include Nature
In my work as a therapist grounded in both perinatal mental health and nature-based healing, I often work with clients who are reminded:
Nature never shames a tree for shedding.
It doesn’t rush a flower into bloom.
It doesn’t panic when the weather changes.
When we step outside—into the woods, onto a trail, onto the support of a park bench—we begin to feel the quiet truth: we’re not broken. We’re becoming.
Nature helps us access the version of ourselves that isn’t ruled by urgency or fear.
You, Without Anxiety in the Driver’s Seat
When your anxiety softens, who shows up?
- The version of you who can be present in the tiny, joyful moments
- The version who knows that rest is productive
- The one who trusts your intuition more than the algorithm
- The version of you who can ask for help without guilt
She’s in there. Even if anxiety is loud, she hasn’t gone anywhere. She might just need a quieter place to be.
This Is Why I Offer Nature-Informed Walk-and-Talk Therapy
Traditional therapy can be powerful—but sometimes it keeps us stuck in our heads.
Walk-and-talk therapy moves us gently back into our bodies, breath, and environment. It offers:
✅ A calm, natural setting
✅ Rhythmic movement to support emotional processing
✅ A break from overstimulating indoor spaces
✅ Grounding tools to regulate the nervous system
✅ Room to explore identity outside of anxiety or perfectionism
You’re Still You—Even When Anxiety Speaks Loudly
You are more than your worries.
You are not the worst thing your mind imagines.
You are allowed to come home to yourself.
If you’re navigating pregnancy, postpartum, or parenthood—and you’re ready to reconnect with who you really are, beyond the fear—I’m here to walk with you.

🌿 FAQ: Summer & Fall Nature-Based Therapy Sessions
Q: Are nature-based therapy sessions available year-round?
Yes! I offer seasonal outdoor sessions in and around Baltimore. While spring and fall are two of the most popular seasons, nature-informed therapy is available throughout the year—with the option to meet virtually when needed.
Q: Is it too hot for nature therapy in the summer?
Not at all. Summer sessions are thoughtfully timed and located: we meet in the morning hours or in shaded areas near water to keep things cool and comfortable. I’ve selected a handful of calming spots where clients can breathe, reflect, and feel supported—without overheating. Fully customizable.
Q: What if I want to start therapy now, but I’m most excited for fall sessions?
That’s actually ideal! Many clients start with online sessions during the summer to get comfortable, begin the intake process, and lay the groundwork.
By the time fall rolls in—and the leaves begin to turn—you’ll be ready to transition into in-person nature sessions at a local park. 🍂
If walking with a therapist as the trees turn vibrant sounds like a dream—don’t wait. My fall nature therapy spots fill quickly, and now is the perfect time to get on my schedule.
Q: Can I mix telehealth and nature-based sessions?
Yes! My approach is flexible and hybrid-friendly. Many clients prefer a combination of telehealth sessions and occasional seasonal nature-based meetups, which allows us to honor your schedule, energy, and changing needs as a parent.
Q: Where do the in-person sessions take place?
I meet with clients in peaceful, accessible outdoor locations throughout the Baltimore area—parks, trails, gardens, and waterfront spots. We’ll discuss options during our consultation or intake session.
